Ok, ok I've gone for it and bought a Christmas tree. I definitely never go over the top for Christmas, I'm of the feeling that Christmas starts way to early and is spoiled to death by the sheer drive of consumerism. Anyway this year I started to think it might be nice to have a tree here, to make the place feel festive especially on Christmas day when someone very special shall be cooking me Christmas dinner. So whilst out in the Bolton area yesterday I found myself wandering whistfully around M&S, eyeing up trees and decorations. Never having bought a proper tree (not "proper" and not "real") I haven't a clue what the measurements mean. Six foot sounds a bit too high for me to be putting an angel of the top, so I went for a 3 foot model. Decorations on 3 for 2, my little helper advised a 5m length of lights. Back home I've checked it out and I think it's going to be a little on the small side, but that just about suits me. It's back in it's box and not to come out until next weekend at least. I am almost excited!
