As a few of you know I took a short break and went travelling a couple of weeks ago. This was the first time I've been abroad for a few years now, and I headed off to Europe on a sight-seeing mission. Lying on a beach, or next to a pool for hours on end just doesn't excite me at all. I like to be out doing, seeing, eating, drinking and experiencing whatever is out there. I had a fantastic time, made some friends, took lots of photos and came back with some great memories. Only regret was not taking the chance to negotiate myself an absolutely gorgeous leather, fur-lined coat that I'd spotted on the last morning. I didn't have the energy by then, and also didn't realise that I did actually have enough currency remaining.
I returned to a UK just recovering from a heatwave, and it's been pretty nice ever since!
Whatever happens I've now definitely gotten the travel bug, just where to go next.....?

Glad you hd a lovely holiday Ruth. Perhaps when we are next together (v soon I hope) we can chat about places to see ?
To Alex - living in the lakes is not all roses, just think what it is like in the summer - everytime you go out you drive for ages down a narrow winding road trapped between coaches and caravans and in the winter you have to dig your way to the road

It's great that you had a fantastic time and such a shame about the coat !
Has this good weather in the Lakes encouraged you to dust off the mountain bike and go exploring the trails ?
Love reading your blog - keep them coming.
